Etsy Fees You Need To Know

There are a few Etsy fees associated with listing and selling an item.

The basic fees you need to know are:

-Listing Fees

-Transaction Fees

-Payment Processing Fees

There are extra fees if you utilize Etsy features like Etsy Ads or Offsite Ads, or if you purchase shipping labels from Etsy, which we’ll discuss later in this blog post.

How to View Your Payment Account

To check your Payment account, which contains the fees and taxes you paid when selling on Etsy:

(1) Select Shop Manager, or select More from the Sell on Etsy app.

(2) Choose Finances.

(3) Select a Payment account.

If you have an Amount due, you may pay immediately or set up auto-billing if you live in the United States.

Listing Fees

Listing fees are the costs associated with listing things for sale on Etsy. You will be charged a listing fee for each listing you publish.

The listing cost is $0.20 USD per listing. This fee is paid whether or not the item on the market sells. When you publish an item, the charge is automatically deposited to your payment account.

Auto-renew sold, multi-quantity, and private listing fees are some other types of listing fees.

Auto-Renew Sold Fees

If a listing is purchased from your shop, auto-renewed listings automatically repost it, saving you the time of manually reposting items. If you set up an auto-renewing listing and it is purchased, you will be charged the regular $0.20 USD listing cost.

Multi-Quantity Listing Fees

If you offer multiple varieties of an item in a single listing and a client buys more than one variation, you will be charged the regular $0.20 USD listing fee for each subsequent item purchased from the listing. The additional costs will not be applied until a multi-quantity transaction is made.

If you had more than one item in stock for a certain listing and a customer purchased two distinct varieties of that item, your payment account would display the initial $0.20 USD listing charge plus an extra $0.20 USD for the second item purchased.

Private Listing Fees

Private listings are great when you wish to sell a specific product for a private sale to a specific customer. The typical charge for private listing is $0.20 USD.

Transaction Fees

These are the charges collected by Etsy when a customer purchases something from your shop. Transaction fees, as opposed to listing fees, are only collected on listings that sell.

The basics of transaction fees are:

(1) Etsy charges 6.5% of the total order amount in the currency specified in your listing.

(2) This price is applied to the overall cost of the item, including shipping and gift wrapping (if you charge your customers for those). The costs will be listed individually on your Payment Account.

(3) The transaction fee is promptly credited to your Payment Account.

Payment Processing Fees

Payment processing fees are a flat rate plus a percentage of the item’s total sale price. This rate and percentage differ by country. The fees will be deducted from the final sale price, which includes shipping charges and any applicable sales tax.

Each transaction that uses Etsy Payments incurs payment processing fees. These processing fees will reflect in your payment account and deducted prior to deposit. They are in addition to the transaction fees charged by Etsy.

Other Fees

Shipping Label Fees

Etsy offers labels for the following carriers:

  • FedEx
  • Canada Post
  • USPS
  • Royal Mail
  • Australia Post
  • Global Postal Shipping

You may purchase a shipping label on Etsy and print it from the convenience of your own home or workplace. This saves time at the post office, gives you access to postage discounts, and allows you to simply obtain refunds for unused labels.

VAT

VAT may vary on processing fees and seller services.

Advertising Fees

Offsite Ads

  • Etsy will charge a 15% fee on the order total if you made less than $10,000 on Etsy in the last 365 days,
  • If you make at least $10,000, you will receive a 12 percent discount.
  • The Offsite Ad cost for an order will never exceed $100, regardless of the order total.

Etsy Ads

  • The cost of ads varies.
  • Etsy Ads allows you to showcase your items in specific Etsy search results.
